News / Simon Parker / August 26, 2019

Congratulations to Dr Thin Nguyen, a Senior Research Fellow at A2I2, and his colleagues for receiving Best Performer Awards as a result of reaching the top ranks among over 50 teams at the “DREAM Single Cell Transcriptomics Challenge” in December, 2018 at New York, USA.

The DREAM Challenges are an open science effort. They are a non-profit, collaborative community effort consisting of contributors from across the research spectrum including researchers from universities; technology companies like IBM Research; not for profits, like Sage Bionetworks; and biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Thin Nguyen was a member of two teams entering the challenge: ThinNguyen team (Deakin University) and WhataTeam Team (Deakin University and University of South Australia). In each of the three sub-challenges, the two teams were placed in the top three and were ranked 1 in a number of the sub-challenges..

Congratulations to Dr Thin Nguyen and his teams on their initiative, great performance, and their continuing efforts to break new ground and contribute new knowledge to the field of biology.
